Therapeutic Groups:
Transdiagnostic Anxiety Group (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy [ACT])
This is a 10 week anxiety management group designed to teach a series of evidence based stress and anxiety management skills.
The group is aimed at individuals suffering from a number of anxiety disorders with a low mood.
- Type of Group: Closed group (need to join and sign up for the treatment program)
- Time: The Transdiagnostic Anxiety Group is run on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm until 8:00pm once weekly
- Cost: The Transdiagnostic Anxiety Group costs R450.00 per session which is claimable from medical aid
Social Anxiety CBT Group
The SAD group is a 10 week programme designed to treat individuals suffering with SAD.
It is both a skills based and exposure therapy group.
- Type of Group: Closed group (need to join and sign up for the treatment program)
- Time: The SAD Group is run on Thursdays from 6:30 until 8:00pm, every alternative Thursday
- Cost: The SAD Group costs R450.00 per session which is claimable from medical aid
Inpatient Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Treatment Program
The inpatient obsessive compulsive treatment (OCD) program is run at Vincent Pallotti's inpatient psychiatric unit St Vincent's. The Program incorporates both cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) with a strong exposure and response prevention (ERP) focus. This is a highly effective treatment which is aimed at long term improvement in wellbeing and functioning. Inpatient Insomnia Treatment Program
This program aims to help individuals who are suffering with a primary insomnia (a sleep disorder not directly related to another disorder or psychiatric condition), bit it is also tailored to assist individuals who are suffering with insomnia which may be resulting from traumatic stress, depression or an anxiety related difficulty/problem. The program is usually one week long, but where the insomnia is oart of a broader presenting difficulty some programs are designed to run over a two week inpatient stay.
